I was around 11-12.
I wanted a stereo system and a
jeff kendall graffiti skateboard from GoSkate!. My mom knew the owners of this local audio / video store. It was during Xmas season and I stood on the sidewalk out front, on a busy street in Belmont, CA; a skinny, little dude in a Santa suit and a stupid pillow wedged in around my stomach and the huge black belt. I held a white-board sign with "Sale" and some other shit written on it.
That lasted for a few weeks, for a few hours a day during Xmas break. Saved enough money for the deck, bullet wheels and independent trucks. Got the stereo from doing chores around the house a year or so later.
