Another one of my favorites I read recently was The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It's a really neat book. Combination thriller/afterlife mystery.

I have trouble reading dog books.....Old Yeller did me in years ago...I don't mind humans getting hurt or feeling bad..but, puppies and animals? Just can't stand it. Makes me cry.
I really like Connelly; but, Sandford, who used to be one of my faves, simply doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't remember which 'Prey' book did it..but I found I couldn't read him anymore.
