Pamela Anderson's Colonel crusade
Pamela Anderson has called for a statue of Colonel Sanders in Kentucky to be destroyed - saying it is a daily reminder of cruelty to chickens.
The furious actress wants the bust of the Colonel - who invented the secret recipe which made his company Kentucky Fried Chicken one of the most successful fast food restaurants in the world - to be removed immediately.
Pamela, penned a letter to the Governor of Kentucky on behalf of PETA, which claims KFC - which has long been a target for animal rights campaigners - abuses chickens by cruelly plumping them up to make their burgers succulent.
She wrote: "The bust of Colonel Sanders stands as a monument to cruelty and has no place in the Kentucky State Capitol."
But Governor Ernie Fletcher has hit back at the busty star, saying: "Colonel Sanders was one of Kentucky's most distinguished citizens, a great entrepreneur and a fine charitable man of faith, and he certainly has a place in Kentucky history. We believe he warrants appropriate recognition as such."
