I've gone to the Grammys just about every year for the past 10.
I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Winter Music Conference is much much more fun.
Sitting through all the ancilliary awards like best spoken word album and best folk album isn't fun. They don't show those on the TV broadcast but you have to sit through them... and there's a lot of em. Not to mention having to sit through the awards for genres of music you don't like.
The after parties are nice only if you know someone. I wouldn't even go as far as to call them parties, the pop and rock afterparties are more like social mixers. The urban parties are a bit more loose. Jamie's will be a bit better but it's really only good if you know more than a few of the people that's gonna be around you because the music industry people tend to be a bit elite-ish.
The WMC on the other hand has a lot of the cooler stars and it's a constant party. It's the biggest party in North America. Do not miss it. Seriously.
