That makes no sense at all. LG isn't a quality brand, and they certainly don't try to be either. Like Memorex, Mark, Mustek and Goldstar their image is the complete opposite: "Buy this, we promise it's as generic as it gets".

How does that help? If either fucks up, you have the warranty. And if it breaks after the warranty expires, what good is a brand that doesn't even have a "name" going for it?
