Let me share this with you- If you've had tile counter tops then just ignore it, but if not, I would strongly advise you to think hard about it. I did them in the first house I lived in, and I fucken HATED them once they were done. They were a bitch to keep clean and the grout gets yucky, no matter what color you use. Every time you wipe a rag across them, it pushes wet crumbs and whatever else is on the counter, right in between the tiles. They just felt and looked dirty *all* the time, to me.
The tile backsplash looked great, but the counters were a nightmare. If I wouldn't have moved, I seriously would have ripped them all out, even though I was so excited when I first had them put in.

Same thing with the grout happend abt 8 years ago when I did it last. The new pre mixed grout with sealer is "supposed" to last 20 years.
Besides we are selling the house soon so it won't be my problem anymore
