How can anyone really be embarassed to cash a check?
If your that paranoid about it just deposit them in the ATM. Though I feel if you can work in this industry you should be ok with cashing checks and getting stuff that may be industry related.
On another note I suppose knowing your feedback. I could alter company names and have all of our checks come from
