They did the same thing with a panhandling law in Dallas, but the dipshit Mayor Laura Miller took it a little too far. The Dallas Firefighters Association used to take one week a year where off-duty firefighters would collect for charities on the street corners in a "Fill the Boot" campaign. Miller would not allow a "permit" for them to continue this under the panhandling laws. As a result the collection efforts went from over a million a year, to under $50k.
