ASM, very true regarding the novelty of ideas. Indeed, many ideas implemented and applied to one problem set evolved for another purpose. Zippers and fireworks are the first things to come to mind, there's tons of others. Good point re outsourced monk labor

Willpower is definitely key. I didn't think of that specifically. I guess I subsumed it under "energy."

Ideas though are nearly living creatures, when an ideas time has come it will find a way to materialize and become real. Many may have had this idea and most will not have done anything with it. Ideas can gain momentum and a life of their own. So along with an idea you need the thought process required to see what the idea is, what it can do, and how to allow it to come forth from thought.

Now in your original list you left off the one I would choose over ideas, capital, and endless energy. That being of course willpower.
