just a quick nit to pick. according to most in the country, "the people" ARE the government. unlike other countries, where the people can be "peasants" or "subjects", "peons" - however it's put.

they did attack a military body, though. i know the most dramatic attack was on the WTC, but that was not the only one.
in any case, these aren't people with the military strength to attack our military. if they attacked the military (in this case i mean a non-administrative building) they'd lose, very quickly, and with no fanfare on top of that. in other words, they would have failed. why would they knowingly go in to something, knowing they're going to die, only to fail? i think it makes sense, and i would contend that they did/do have hearts and "souls", just ones that have a different agenda than you do.

We had better act like the civilized nation we claim to be, take our case to the Congress, to the country, and to the world ...

absolutely. how many of our own principles will we trample to further this agenda? will it be worth it? has it ever been when we've ignored our own constitution in the past?
