Yes there is. If you can't afford one less than 5 years old in good condition then you shouldn't bother. Their 'classics' don't look any better as the years go on, unlike the average Jag.
For the money you might spend on an oldish BMW you could get a newer nicer car with slightly less prestige. But then it wouldn't look crappy either.
Some people have no clue.
