I am not surprised at your inability to see the obvious.
I watch TV. Like alot of people. I see TV as social commentary. You want to see how sick society is... turn on the boob tube. I always have it on in the background. 95% of the time on MSNBC.
I watch alot of things I dont necessarily like. I like to watch how shows try and control and manipulate public opinion. Turn on MSNBC and watch the support of Israel and the coming war with Iraq. Does it mean I agree with it? Because I watch something or listen to something on tv does that mean I give tacit approval of it?
American Idol is sick. Its corporate whores in action. You can learn alot about a society by paying attention to what it watches and what it listens to. TV and mass media are the most powerful tools at the hands of those who wish to sway public opinion.
Thats what I never understood about you people.
Whenever I talked about why Palestianians blow themselves up, or why someone would fly a jet into the WTC, people automatically assume I approve of it. I understand why alot of people do alot of things, it does not mean I approve of it nor do I like it. I wallow in homosexual pornography all day. DO I approve of it or say it is right? No. You will catch me stating quite the contrary.
Just because I dont like something does not mean I will not listen to it or watch it. How can you ever plan to criticize someone for liking corporate ass rock if you are not at the very least familiar with the material you are attacking. That is why people like Rose and 12Clicks cant argue their way out of a paper bag concerning what they evidently feel so strongly about. They only understand one side. Why? Because the other side is evil and wrong so they dont deserve to be studied. And that is just ignorant. I would be a bad anthropologist if I didnt watch this dribble.

So in the process of watching this sickness unfold I have formed an opinion. Kelly should be the one whored out by the music industry.
