So yes he knew it was source code but during the install he must
have just copied the code and handed it over. To check through
the code to see what it was would have taken too long.

you can get a hold of a copy of the stuff while he's installing..
I want to check if the guy is not cheating me.....and you will
get an icecream for it....I can imagine that the kid would agree.
If he's not familiar with the industry nor with UCJ he could easily
have underestimate the consequences of his actions.....of course
stealing is wrong.....no doubt....but some people are really good
at manipulating others.....and that seems what has happened.
