Actually an obsessively clean ex got me into that, mainly because it keeps the toilet area much cleaner. If you stand there are hundreds of wayward urine microdroplets that land on the upturned seat, bowl and floor and unless you clean the toilet area several times daily (after each use) you will have these building up with resultant smell and bacteria.
