Really? Cause PS just flipped the switch and the machine was fine.
It "could" lose data "could" is the keyword. As long as the machine isn't a full traffic/db machine, it isn't going to make a difference, and his machines didn't do much..
I have a unix machine in my home office, and my son flips the damn thing on and off all the time. At least 2 times a week, never hurts it. Just like flipping the switch on a windows machine it "could" do damage, but normally it doesn't.
