The mother is not suppose to say "well, I paid $400 this month on my kid, and here is my $400 child support check, so I will spend that on myself, since Wow, you've got some kind of weird math going here.

First off, $400 a month isn't enough to pay for half a kids expenses and it's borderline on whether or not it'll pay for a pair of shoes at Nordstrom's, much less buy a pedicure and all that other shit to go with it.
