Congratulations to FUBAR
This is a copy of the introduction I wrote for JFK's new "FUBAR Times" Magazine, which he is launching this week at Internext. Taylor Little and Jordan Capri are there now in FUBAR's booth, #301, signing their centerfold in the premiere issue. Check it out!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am honored to have been asked to contribute to the premiere issue of The FUBAR Times. Anyone who has attended a tradeshow or webmaster gathering over the last several years has seen the always smiling JFK, the man behind the camera; the man who has traveled around the world and back to share and photograph our adventures. This is the guy that attends EVERY party, EVERY gathering, EVERY event, with an all-access pass and a camera in hand. Not just to have fun himself, but also to document the moment, the energy, the vibe, and to capture all of us being, well, US! Webmaster events are always packed with great people, fun activities, and amazing experiences that turn us all into friends, and no one has captured it all better than Julius Kedvessy, aka JFK from FubarWebmastersAdventures.com. His photos tell a thousand different stories, but together they tell us about him: Determined. Fun-loving. Honest. Caring. Generous.
I met JFK in fall of 2002 at Cybernet in Las Vegas. While we sat together at breakfast, I bluntly asked him the same question that many others have asked: ?Who are you and why the hell do you keep taking my picture?? After he explained his motives, I couldn?t wait to sponsor his work. If you want to put a name or a product in front of every person that attends a tradeshow, what better way is there than to show them pictures of themselves having the time of their lives? His idea was pure genius!
Who hasn?t visited the FUBAR website to relive the fun, to remember the moment, or just to prove to our friends back home that, yes, there was indeed some crazy shit going on that day and I WAS THERE!
JFK and FUBAR have since become a welcome and familiar part of every gathering, big and small alike. Personally, it just doesn?t FEEL like a real convention until we see JFK and his camera. I?ve been amazed to see pictures from multiple parties, often miles apart, during the SAME night. JFK frequently sacrifices his own fun to more thoroughly document everyone else?s!
I?m proud to be a FUBAR sponsor and to have been a small part of what FUBAR has become. I will look forward to every new issue of The FUBAR Times. Congratulations on your new magazine Julius, you truly deserve all the success in the world!
Sincerely,
Steve Lightspeed
