You can bankrupt taxes after certain limitation periods are over. As far as liens from judgements, you can't claim bankruptcy on them from what I have read.

Also, the new bankruptcy laws make cpater 7 pretty much chapter 11 now.. meaning there is no way to declare total bankruptcy and wipe out all debt. The amount youpay, however, is dependant upon the amount of money you make.

There are many homeowners from Katrina who didn't have insurance and lost their homes.. Very few got the bankruptcy through before the laws changed and there are thousands who are carrying a mortgage through on their chapter 7's ... That is some fucked up shit... New bankruptcy laws have their purpose, and I get Bush's reasoning for amending the laws, but there should still be a way to declare total bankruptcy.
