Road to Perdition was the last good movie I saw at a theatre; lately there's been nothing but mindless shit like
Fear Dot Com and
XXX out (how anyone can enjoy 2 hours of idiot dialogue and pointless action sequences is beyond me).
Lord of the Rings was terrible, it didn't hold up as a Great Film the way other
movies based on books do. Everyone here seems to like
The Shawshank Redemption, so if the movie sucked and their excuse was "Well, you have to read the book to know what's going on", you'd think it's lame (I'm willing to bet most of you
haven't read the book).
And to whoever said
Schindler's List isn't a movie you can watch repeatedly: I can, and have, and will again if they ever release that fucking DVD. In fact, now that
Pulp Fiction got the Special Edition treatment, it's probably the #1 film on my Gotta-Have-It list. I dunno what your definition of art is, but that's mine.
