I started playing Hold 'em a bit over a year and a half ago, but I grew up kind of a gambler.
Been playing poker in home games for years. Mainly 7 card stud, 5 card draw.
when I was 12 I asked for a calculator that had a black jack game..this was back in '78 so it was a really expensive gift for a 12 year old but my dad got it for me.
I figured out my own blackjack system back then which I found out later on in life it wasn't anything earth shattering, just optimal play. But I can sit down and play for hours on the same money or leave a winner. have not left a bj table in years a loser.
My grandfather taught me how to shoot craps the year before that...so yeah I've been a gambler for a good part of my life.
However I know that pit games are overall losing games, so I only play poker now.
