Most countries are small and limited to maybe one or two types of natural disasters because of that. The US is so large that all types of natural disasters can happen here, but each is generally limited to a specific area.
Earthquakes, mud slides and fires in the south west. Blizzards in the north. Tornados and large hail in the midwest. Flooding and hurricanes in the south east.
The only thing we don't have is volcanos (besides Mt St Helens), but supposedly Yellowstone is one great big one waiting to blow.
