Lots of BS spilled upon GFY, but no shit, when I was at SJSU (San Jose State) in the early 80's, we brought a band in for a free noon concert - a little band out of Ireland, called U2.
The opening band (which probably had more fans in attendance) was Romeo Void ("Never Say Never" was their one big hit).
U2 had just released their first album:
I was so impressed...I have seen the band evolve and witnessed them live over ten times since then. Of course they are now legendary, although "War" was most likely their big break-through album.
When my wife created her art piece from the "War" album, I was literally driven to tears, especially since I understood the thought that went into it.
I confess to being a sensitive peacenik...
I'm sure your schedule will be as busy as mine, but I really hope to meet up with you at some point in Sin City...we have each other's numbers, so let's do it!!!
