How did the menu end up looking? I was recently at a place in Greenhills (suburb of Manila, Philippines) that had dishes that tasted exactly like meat. I was surprised to learn that it was TVP/glutein with no MSG. Amazing stuff.

We did the usual turkey and a ham, and then we always have lots of fresh vegetables, so it's not too bad. The thing that always screws us up is stuff like putting pork fat in when you're cooking your beans. A lot of the seasoning for vegetables in the South has junk like that, and she won't eat it. We make her a separate small bowl of everything with no meat, animal fat, or dairy and my grandmother makes her a small pan of dressing without any turkey or meat.
We also did Texas caviar, Chinese coleslaw, seven layer salad and a lot of other stuff that passed inspection. We've kind of learned over the years what she will and will not eat. Sometimes I lie to her about desserts and tell her there's no eggs/milk in something, when everyone knows there is.
