I think alot of it has to do with what units you are attached to. I did 6 years as a medic and when I was in a pure support company working in a hospital there were alot of problems with the attitudes of the people serving with the unit, and some of them should not have been there. When I got attached to more combat oriented units like an 5/17th AirCav unit in Korea and others the type of people changed dramtically.

The different units are just different types of enviroments, when I was at the hospital there was little discipline and we basically worked our shift and were free to do what we wanted... no formations, no team building elements...

While in the Cav and esp in Korea it is run much tighter with daily formations and accountability.

After 9/11 I did contact a recuiter about reenlisting, I have all the paperwork ready to go, but I am hesitant about leaving my civilian life behind, where when I was 17 it was not that big of a deal...
