Enjoying this convo, and maybe we can continue it later, but its late here so for the moment, I'll just answer briefly (and like I said maybe continue it again). Anyhow ...
To honestly answer your question .... Speaking first about others, most people would NOT cancel you under that circumstance, business first. However, surprise, I'd say 35-40% of the business people in this industry WOULD can you anyhow.
Now you directed the question to me. Would *I* do it? Rather than say there's too many variables here to give a great perfect answer (how well do I know you, how well do I know her, how much emotional whatever is invested, how much monetary whatever is invested, am I about to make a deal with either of you, yadda yadda .....)
.... But for now I'll just do my best role-play and to feign impartiality and all that good stuff. And guess what my answer would be? To be honest as possible, on any of 19 days, I wouldn't cancel you. I may have a headache, the shits, and be pissed off at the world on day 20 and then I would. :-) Again, I think many folks are that way. It's mood-vs-logic roulette and you take your chances. :-)
In any event, as you said a) KK wasn't working there at the time and b) doesn't change a damned thing about consequences of actions, now does it? If anything it bolsters it. "You say, you play, you pay."
