Hit by a bus: do you have a contigency plan?
For those of you that have "run by themselves" web sites: what happens if you die or you're incapacitated tomorrow? Do you have a backup plan where a S.O., family member or trusted friend can take over at least part of your business to keep it alive?
My own sites have a lot of (bad) custom programming so it would be hell for someone to try to figure out everything... and I don't know anyone I could implicitly trust that would be technically capable of doing that.
The good thing is that most are automated, so long as the server bills are paid they'll continue running and generating revenue until something goes wrong. Even if they all died there would be some recurring income for at least a little while.
I wonder if a spouse or manager of a deceased estate is still able to deposit cheques with the deceased's name on them?
