very true - you want to stop this violence? drop the young offenders act NOW - have kids been tried as adults and see how fast the shootings stop. Gun laws dont do anything when the people who are doing the shootings arent walking around with registered guns in the first place. They get them for 20$ downtown illegally, and the bullets arent tracable to a registry.
Punks will think twice if they realize that they can get life - right now youth see jail time as a badge of honor. You spend 3 years and you are a "god" to others on the streets and schools. so they purposely go out and commit a crime just to get recognition and respect from others by doing a crime. Getting into gangs also in some cases requires the newbie to just go out and shoot someone randomly so as to show no fear.
Bring back death penalty, increase border patrols by snopping for guns and remove young offenders act. It will be a peaceful society once again and if there is a fight- its done in an honorable way - fists.
