Captain,
I can't stand Bruce Springsteen. I find nothing redeeming about his music whatsoever. This is just personal taste though. Nothing more, nothing less. I wouldn't say the guy lacks in musical ability, just that it doesn't speak to me and I don't like the music at all. I don't relate to him, his life, where he comes from or anything like it. So what? You like him. I don't. Nothing deeper than that.
i CERTAINLY don't see anything deep about Springsteen lyrics that don't exist in, say, Eminem's.

When it comes to musical ability many classical and jazz musicians would say rock is pop-art. Not even worthy of consideration. Should we buy into that? Your choice.
All *I'M* saying is people love to say the music they listen to is great and other people's music is "not even music". My grandfather said it about my father's music. My dad said it about mine. 'Round and 'round she goes.
