If it's an effective method of reducing crime rates, then I say fuck it go for it. Don't like it? Maybe the Asian community can keep their children from shooting at each other in nightclubs.
It's like when you're waiting in line in the airport to be screened, and the inspectors are randomly checking an 80 year old grandmother from China's bag just so when they ask Habib and Akim to check their luggage too their feelings won't be hurt. Ridiculous.
