Bet your friggen arse that more than 2/3 of surfers do this!!! You can also count on the fact that the url on content generates several type ins. particularly on movies & videos. The surfers are typing in the url, not clicking the fucking links. wake the fuck up people. |
You have some good points, but I can hardly think of any sponsors that will give out content without their copyright notice/url. To many content thieves around!
About the directory sniffing, there should not be a problem with that at all, because once a user lands on the fhg (that is before he can dig into the file tree) his cookie for the affiliate program is already planted in the browser. So you will get credit for the sale.
If you want to check if your affiliate code is correctly transmitted, go all he way to the signup form and check the source code. Your affiliate code should by right there and not in the browser status bar.
