I think the people who get to the point where $8k doesn't mean much didn't get to that point by letting people scam them out of $8k (not saying they did, just for the sake of argument). $8k is a lot of money to anyone and I couldn't imagine seeing anyone sit back and say "shucks" and move on.

I work and have worked mostly in mainstream with many large companies companies, including contract work for companies like Microsoft. They are very tough to deal with and they demand that they get what they pay for regardless of the cost/work. Try spending a few bucks on Google Adwords and giving them a bad credit card. They'll shit down your throat till they get it.

I just can't find one example of a succesful company that will throw thousands of dollars around and not care. Regardless of if you are a millionaire or not, $8k buys a lot of shit and is not something to take lightly.
