I do see someone from Split did post and say they got an entire class c blocked, this could explain the fine that was mentioned.

NOTHING can explain lying and stringing a client along for months because their partner made threats. Threats are to be expected in any service industry when stressed out people think they are getting screwed over.
If the service provider is a "stand up" professional, they will not take that threat as leverage and license to screw the client over and lie to them like that.
