If the owners hadn't tried to put restrictions on players salaries, there would be no strike. As a matter of fact the ONLY times that the players have walked off it was because the owners have been trying to take away what the union had won, and the owners had agreed to in previous negotiations. If they don't do something to bring the salaries down, baseball won't exist professionally, because there will only be about 4 owners who can afford to get talent. As stated earlier it will be the yankees vs. the other collective team.
