So he/she kept the stuff inside and gave back the luggage.
Unless the employee stated he/she wanted new luggage, he/she may of thought it was a hint to find a new job. Who knows
but I would feel odd recieving that type of gift since it could give me a mix message.
If I liked my boss and working within the company, I doubt I would return it and thank him. But, I would be wondering if I should be looking for a new job.
