how is Google Video getting away with it? They just grab videos, re-encode them with Flash and slap a link to the website they found the video on. What makes Google different from you and me?

US Copyright Office is a joke - i'd love to see how many people actually work there - i waited over an hour and a half to talk to anybody and registrations are now taking 5-7 months and they don't even have a system where you or they can track the status of your registration. maybe Google figures so few people actually register copyright it's worth the risk that occassionally they will get sued - kinda the mainstream version of the old AdultBouncer.
