You can be damn sure that if you're murdered here, justice WILL NOT be served. In the States, if someone is murdered, and a person arrested, the family can find SOME closure in that fact, but in Canada, the family will be humiliated when the perp gets off.

While I can understand where your anger is coming from, don't you think you're going a tad overboard here? Your above statements are ridiculous! You are angry about one specific case, and yes it's a boned-up outcome to that case, but come on, it is crazy to say Canada is soft on murderers. There are plenty of cases where someone committed murder and is now doing 25 to life for it.
does the name Paul Bernardo ring any bells for ya?
Anyone reading the papers or watching Canadian news with any regularity would know that of the murder cases we do have, when found guilty most of them get 20 or 25 to life. If I'm wrong and you're right, then who are all those inmates up in Stony Mountain penitentiary and what are they doing in maximum security? (hint: it's about 20 km north of Winnipeg)
By the way, crime rate? Winnipeg has about 700,000 people, and we get on average about 20-25 murders per year. Dude, there are US cities who get that many over an average weekend.
