What it sounds like you're saying to me is that AVN will continue to send out their mags however they see fit, and if you don't like how AVN does it then 'don't complain' just quit getting them?
I think that's a poor way to respond to legitimate complaints from your mailing database. How many porn mags (like Hustler, Playboy, etc) would send to their customers in a clear envelope? They all use brown envelopes for a reason: DISCRETION, a common courtesy that wouldn't hurt AVN in any way (yes I know it's a different target audience, but that doesn't negate my point).
The AVN Mag is apparently another revenue source for AVN, shouldn't AVN want to retain and grow their current database to include more webmasters rather than NOT accommodate (through something that seems to be just common sense anyways) them and result in a LOSS of circulation?
Decline of circulation = loss of advertising $$ = bottom line it's less profit for AVN!
What's the big deal switching from clear wrap to brown envelopes (or dark wraps that don't reveal anything) anyway? Does it really cost that much more?

Another great point. Personally I think they just don't give a shit, they have proven that with the way they treat webmasters at their events as well as other issues i have seen over the past few years.
