The consoles with the games we selected
Here goes the mini review.
Intro promises:
Exceptionel gaming console, multimedia wonder. A lot of hype from Microsoft :-)
Introduction
It's an Xbox 360, you must have heard about it.
It was released in the beginning of december.
Meant for gaming and multimedia displaying.
Our oppinion:
We received a console meant for the Canadian market, which means an AC adapter for 110v. As we are located in Denmark we have 230V in our sockets.
We bought a 110v to 230v converter to fix that problem.
Unpacked it and connected it to a 42" Plasma at the office.
There wasn't any speaker in the Plasma TV, so we had to bring in the amplifier and the speakers from my desktop.
We got it plugged in.
There is a switch on the Video cable to select high quality, remember to trigger that switch. It improves quality a lot.
There was a small issue with selecting an account for the games - when we wanted to play locally. We found out we could initiate a search on XboxLive, cancel that search - then we could activate the local account for the game, and get the game started.
We did only try local playing.
We tried all the games, except Need for Speed. It will have to wait for enxt time.
We started out with Project Gotham Racing.
We drove till we had enough to buy a Ferrari Enzo - and tried riving a little in that.
Hint: Don't buy the Enzo - the automatic gear box is way to slow for the strong motor. So the rev limiter goes into action all the time. Quite annoying.
The game itself is a lot of fun.
Then we tried Tiger Woods golfing, Jeppe my partner didn't have much success with that ( lol ) so we moved on to Amped after two holes.
Amped was allright, haven't tried a snowboard game before, but it was funny.
The end of the evening was the Fifa soccer game, haha - it was a lot of fun because we both sucked big time at it.
Design:
The design is good, nothing exceptionel, but I think my GF will allow it in the livingroom under the TV.
Noise level
Quite noisy, don't place it at the table right beside you.
The fan does speed up and down as you go to game mode. The fan does not spin down when you pause a game. We experienced that while we ate our take a way fastfood.
If you sit 5 metres away from it in a normal living room, I doubt it is a problem.
Conclusion:
Overall a nice console. We like it, and we think that when you have learned to use the features you will be happy to have it.
The image quality in the games are outstanding.
At least when we see hacks for it on the market. I have an original modified Xbox which are good for all multimedia stuff.
[B]Remark, this is not a very serious review, more our short opinion of it.
Search for real reviews on google if you want all the facts about the console./B]
If you have ay questions, I'll try to answer them.
Princing:
The console itself is fair priced, don't buy the core system, you need the harddrive.
Games are way to expensive :-)
