Back in the day I went for the RCA CED player because nobody locally was stocking LDs. What a POS, too many of the dscs would skip in the same place every time. It was neat to have a couple of old favorite films on demand but I gave up on it after about a dozen discs and went for my first VCR (in 1981). It cost over $1K (on sale), only had 13 channels and a
wired remote control
