I was never "contacted" by gays before here in Europe. When I went to LA, and although I was there even with a lady, multiple gays "tried" me.

Is this because there is a higher percentage of gays in the US, or because Europeans look like gays, since they are friendly and dress themselve nice

I don´t think the percentage is lover here in Europe. The gay guys here are just not so self-confident, since being a gay (at least in my country) is still considered to be "strange". These guys do not "try" anyone usually just like that.
It´s a bit better in Prague - more multicultural there.
