It's not like there are huge barriers to entry, capital requirements, or technical difficulties to overcome. Anybody who can write blog posts worth a damn can run a whole blog for zero extra effort.
I don't get the economics of this from the post-writer's side, no matter what the price is.

I run three blogs of my own and do entries for a few different people. For me, when I get paid to do an entry, I make sure to get it done. However, when it's just my own project, I get a little lazy. It would be easier to keep up 10 blogs for other people than 10 of my own. I really can't explain why my mind works like this and I'm surely not happy about it, but it's the truth.
