One of my best friends is spending a year there studying Arabic at the university in Damascus. I doubt I'll ever get a chance to go to a place like Syria again, even though my friend is trying to convince me to go to Iran next summer
But I can't see myself going somewhere where I risk not having a real toilet near by I can shit in a hole in the ground and holding it for a week might not be a good idea.
