when I make a hardcore trailer, I'll make the cuts right before the money shot or I'll do a 50% opacity or something to tease the viewer. I use 5 or 10 clips no longer than 3 to 5 seconds for each trailer - keep the scenes changing so they don't have enough time to rub one out while also building some anticipation to see the end.
