Ok being serious for a moment:
You want to know the REAL reason why I think his sig hurts him on this board? It's because it's obviously an "ethnic" man in the pic, with a bland look on his face, munching away on veggies.
If I've learned one thing about GFY, or better yet, if I've learned one thing about this INDUSTRY it's that there are an awful lot of bigots in it. Or at the very least, ACTING like a bigot is perceived as cool.
From a marketing perspective, we decided early on that if we were going to do promotion for a gay program on the boards, we'd have to play the role of "stereotypical faggots".
The ha-ha will and grace stuff plays well on here, acting like serious business professionals (that happen to be gay), working in the gay market place, would not. We'd then be "a bunch of fucking faggots" instead of "those funny gays".
I think the same holds true for other minorities, or people perceived as a minority, as well.
