However, I've found it a bitch to make any money from US lines. 60,000 page hits a day from 12,000 uniques on my site, with a US number prominent on every page has got an average of about 1.5 calls a day. That's before trying to get the callers to part with their credit card number, which none did.

On the other hand, my UK premium rate numbers do well, so I swapped out the US number on each page for another UK number a few days back and call revenue has risen nicely. It's also consistent, none of the crazy fluctuations you seem to get with website affiliate schemes.

If you have any kind of reasonable UK traffic I highly recommend promoting a UK 1-2-1 live chat number.
