Have you tried Chameleon? I went with Babagirls' tutorial
http://www.babagirl.com/ChamSub/ and the process was quick and really easy.
I'd definitely reccomend putting in some partner accounts and getting rid of some of the TGPs included in the default database. Also keep your database backed up; I heard whenever you download the database update your old one is overwritten (haven't updated myself).
I've never tried AdvancedSubmitter though, so I couldn't say which is better.
