What steps did _YOU_ take to boost your income to the $300/day range? My traffic is small and niched but it works, clearly. Growing traffic could get me to a steady 100/day and I plan to launch another site later this month.. But I'm wondering about what paths you took.

Not straight but the lessons we have used are the same. We have been very very picky over the years about who's sites and products we promote from our free sites.
Generally we operate on instict, that a particular site, it's name, content, over all image, etc are good. Then we promote. If it grows we divert attention away from those that dont and really promote. If it grows more we promote to the point that it looks like the site might even be our own. This method has worked for us to build a free site from scratch 3 years ago and make it make significantly more than 300 a day, and only one person works on that site.
Joe D is flattering to me but is also correct about the shows. Get to know some of those people he refers to who represent great products and know people who know people.
