I think i heard north america kills 6 million dogs and cats per year so that seems pretty close to average. The only difference is we burn and destroy the animals after we are finished with them , and they use the fur and meat for profit instead of wasting it.
Any animal lover is going to have issues with crowding so many animals in cages , but the same thing happens here just in a smaller fashion ( because we have alot less people/dogs/cats )
