Different cameras sync up with flash at different shutterspeeds. Sometimes you'll need a faster shutterspeed so it's always nice to know what your limits are. On my Canon 1D Mark II cameras, I can sync as fast as 250th of a second. Anything faster then that and I get what you got with your pics.

Exactly ! ... The S1 is based on the Nikon F60 .. Who's max sync shutter is 125 ... As soon as I reduced my Shutter I got the Image back .. Totally forgot about the Sometimes digital closely mimics Analog. Especially in the older cams such as Fuji S1, Nikon D1 and D1x
