She says, "No, I am from Russia!" So he is puzzled, and asks her, "Where 
are all the Americans?" The Russian lady looks at her watch, shrugs, and 
says... "Probably at work"

 yup - that's just about right.  
it's no wonder why the rest of the world (specifically, socialist countries whos inhabitants enjoy all those paid hollidays, have work weeks of < 40 hrs., etc.) don't like us very much - they can't stand the fact that WE ACTUALLY WORK and are more prosperous because of it.
